Casa Connelly: Our Living Roome Reveal!

I'm so so so excited to be able to reveal our living space this week! This was the first room I started playing with when I moved over and it's taken me some time to get the right feel and vibe for the room. The poor room has been painted 4 or 5 times so that I could achieve living room nirvana.

Overall, it was important to me that room stayed super functional. Adam and I love to watch TV, eat dinner, and do a lot of our day to day living in this room. I hate when you see living rooms in a magazine, with no TV, all styled, and no one is actually using them! So our TV is in this post, we use it, and we love it. To me, a functional home is a happy home.

So it is with GREAT excitement that I am revealing our happy space!

We just replaced our couch and chairs in the room (as the icing on the cake!) a couple weeks ago. It was amazing how replacing a couple pieces could elevate the space. We had a total man couch that was super functional but also totally not our modern/scandi style. So we opted to go with steadfast Ikea when it came to purchasing something affordable and modern for the room. We TOTALLY love it and the space is so much brighter and amazing now.

Our throw pillows and blanket is a mix from some of our favorite shops! And also a mixture of gifts from some very close friends.

I've always liked to have a little bar area in the home. It's a great place to keep wine for everyday use. It is also perfect for hosting guests and get-togethers. You can totally switch up the storage underneath and set up the top to serve at parties in the home. To me, it is the ultimate way to make guests feel like they are at home and allow them to help themselves.

We used an extra Ikea cabinet we had and added on some modern legs to give it a little umph! The bar cart is normally stocked with our favorite Scotch, Port and wine!

The TV area is one of my favorite to style. I am firm believer you don't need a lot of money to get some bang for your buck. I've always owned one of KALLAX shelves from Ikea because I think they versatile and super easy to use/style in the home. This guy cost us 35 pounds and I still love it to death :) All of our favorite books, plants, frames and more are all on display here.

I opted to do a gallery wall of some of the best artwork I've been gifted and collected since moving here. All of the items we used are below!

Last but not least, I got rid of the worlds ugliest chair and got a NEW ONE! And it's new and I am in love. This little section of the room is like dreamy 60's heaven! We are thinking of getting another one so we have lots of space for guests.
